I am a social and public policy scholar specialised in qualitative methods with a strong regional focus on Mexico and Latin America.
I currently work as a Fellow in the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). My work spans three main areas: social policymaking in Mexico, social exclusion and violence across Latin America, and innovative approaches to understanding school violence.
Before joining LSE, I held teaching positions at the University of Edinburgh, the University of Nottingham, and the University College London.
I have a PhD in Social Policy from the University of Edinburgh, a Master's in Social Policy, Work and Welfare from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and a Master's in Public Policy and a BA in International Relations from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.
Beyond my academic research, I am also a frequent guest columnist and commentator, providing expert analysis for major media outlets across Mexico and Latin America
